Easter 2009 – Grasse, France

In 2009, we drove to France on vacation. We stayed in Grasse because we have a deep curiosity for all happenings in southern France. If there is an asparagus festival going on – we are there! We were in St. Didier, Nice, Les Arcs, Chateauneuf du Pape and many bathrooms in between.

April is a great time to visit Provence. People are friendly after a long winter, and hungry for tourist dollars, plus the weather is warm and sunny.  Not a great time to go swimming though but you really should not go swimming after buying wine.

We had a jolly old-time tasting wine at the Chateau de St. Martin where Madame entertained us for hours and almost all the shoppers were Norwegian.  When it was time to go and the cars had been filled so the back hung low, Mme. came over and whispered “If you stopped by police, you must say you have been to St. Martin. Zen evry-sing is ok! Au revoir, bonne journée! ”

Joyeuses Pâques or Happy Easter!
